Payroll software that starts at attendance and ends in a journal entry
Snad calculates each employee's lines from their attendance: lateness, early leave, absence, unpaid leave and overtime — then posts the run as one journal entry at close.
The HR app is available on every plan, including the free Starter plan.
The payroll month: what runs in Snad, and what you handle outside it
Some steps run in Snad; others are yours, at the bank or on an agency portal. Outside deadlines come from their sources.
- All month
Attendance
Employees check in and out on the web or mobile within a work-site radius, with an optional selfie. Absence is recorded automatically after a threshold.
In SnadFrom these records Snad calculates lateness, early leave and absence when the payroll runs.
- All month
Leave
Employees request leave from their own account, and the balance drops when it is approved: annual, sick, unpaid, maternity, paternity and Hajj.
In SnadOnly unpaid leave is deducted from pay in the payroll run.
- Month end
Running and closing payroll
Snad calculates five lines from attendance, you add manual adjustments per employee, then you close the run.
In SnadAt close, one entry: salary expense debited, salaries payable credited with the run's net.
- After close
Paying salaries
You transfer salaries from your organization's bank account.
Outside SnadAt your bank.
- On payment day
Recording the payment
You mark the run as paid in Snad, from the bank or the cash box.
In SnadThe payment entry: salaries payable debited, bank or cash credited. It can be reversed.

One employee's lines in the month's run, and its two entries
Under Snad's default rules: a day's pay is salary plus allowances ÷ 30, and an hour's pay is a day's pay ÷ 8 shift hours.

Rules you set
The defaults are examples. Adjust them to match your contracts and company policy.
- Policy scope
- The whole organization, a department, a work schedule or one employee — the most specific wins.
- Deduction basis
- By daily, hourly or per-minute rate, a fixed amount, or a percentage or multiple of the daily rate.
- Factor and caps
- A factor per line (overtime ×1.5 by default), a lateness grace period, and caps per event and per month.
- Month basis
- A fixed 30-day month, the actual calendar days, or the working days in the employee's schedule.
- Minimum net salary
- Attendance deductions shrink so net pay never drops below it.
- Manual adjustments
- Add a line for an employee before close; it is kept with the calculated lines in the run.
- Leave balances
- An editable default balance per type, with annual leave at 21 days.
