    How does it work?

The net salary calculator reveals the difference between gross pay and what actually lands in the employee's bank account after GOSI social-insurance is deducted. In Saudi Arabia, GOSI rates depend on nationality: Saudis pay 9.75% of the contribution base while non-Saudi residents pay nothing — their employer pays a flat 2% for occupational hazards.

    Core formula

The GOSI base is the basic salary plus housing allowance (transport and other allowances are excluded), capped at SAR 45,000 per month.

    GOSI base = min(basic + housing, 45,000) | Net = gross − (GOSI base × employee rate)

    GOSI rates for 2026

Contribution rates depend on the employee's nationality:

    • Saudi: 9.75% employee (9% pension + 0.75% SANED) and 11.85% employer.
    • Non-Saudi: 0% employee, 2% employer (occupational hazards only).
    • Contribution base capped at SAR 45,000 / month (basic + housing only).

    Worked example

A Saudi employee with SAR 10,000 basic + SAR 2,500 housing + SAR 1,000 transport:

    1. Gross salary = 10,000 + 2,500 + 1,000 = SAR 13,500
    2. GOSI base = 10,000 + 2,500 = SAR 12,500 (transport excluded)
    3. Employee GOSI = 12,500 × 9.75% = SAR 1,218.75
    4. Employer GOSI = 12,500 × 11.85% = SAR 1,481.25
    5. Net salary = 13,500 − 1,218.75 = SAR 12,281.25
    6. Total employer cost = 13,500 + 1,481.25 = SAR 14,981.25

    Tips when negotiating an offer

    • A 25% housing structure raises both the GOSI base and end-of-service gratuity.
    • Transport allowance is exempt from GOSI — increasing it boosts net pay without raising contributions.
    • Always check the total employer cost before extending a salary offer.
    • Salaries above SAR 45,000 are not subject to GOSI on the excess portion.
