## Advanced details

### Paying a supplier

Each supplier has an account in the chart of accounts. Pick it in the **Add accounts** window to make it the voucher's line.

Faster: open the supplier's page and choose **Quick actions**, then **Payment voucher**. The voucher opens with the supplier's account on the first line.

This option shows to users allowed to create payment vouchers, for a supplier who has an account. The [supplier statement](https://www.snad.io/en/guide/supplier-statement) shows the balance.

To settle specific credit [invoices](https://www.snad.io/en/guide/create-purchase-invoice), use [record a supplier payment](https://www.snad.io/en/guide/record-supplier-payment) instead.

### Attach the voucher to a branch

The **Branch** (Optional) field below **Account** ties the voucher to a branch, so it appears in accounting reports filtered by that branch. It starts on your user's branch, if any.

To add branches: [add a branch](https://www.snad.io/en/guide/add-branch).

### A reference on a line

From the **Actions** button on a line, choose **Reference** and type a transfer or check number, for example. It shows under the account name.

The same menu has **Remove line** to delete a line you don't want.

### Description and attachments

In **Notes and attachments**, you write the **Description** and attach files, such as a photo of the bill or receipt.

### After saving: edit, print and the entry

The voucher page opens. From it you print with **Print**, edit with **Update payment voucher**, or open **Accounting operations** to see the entry it posted.

The entry: each line's amount is debited to its account, and the paying account is credited with the voucher total.

You can also delete the voucher from the bottom of its page, if you have delete permission.

The supplier's balance after the voucher shows in the [supplier statement](https://www.snad.io/en/guide/supplier-statement). A voucher that repeats every month is set up in [recurring entries](https://www.snad.io/en/guide/recurring-journal-entries).

- `Ctrl + S` (`⌘ + S` on Mac): **Save**.
- The command palette, `Ctrl + K`: type “Create payment voucher” from any screen.

The button shows only to users allowed to create payment vouchers. Ask your Snad account admin to grant it in [roles and permissions](https://www.snad.io/en/guide/roles-permissions).

If you see “This app is not included in your plan”, Accounting is outside your current [plan](https://www.snad.io/en/guide/manage-subscription).
